1. Purpose

klyr is committed to ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in our productions, office work and on-set activities. We follow relevant UK health and safety legislation and industry best practice.

2. Responsibilities

  • Everyone working on behalf of klyr has a duty to take reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others.
  • klyr Producers ensures appropriate safety arrangements, training and risk controls are in place
  • Managers and project leads must identify risks and implement controls
  • Freelancers and crew must follow safety instructions and report hazards
  • Suppliers and partners must ensure their own equipment and practices are safe and compliant

3. Risk Management

klyr will:

  • Conduct appropriate risk assessments for shoots covering locations, travel and equipment
  • Ensure safe working practices and correct use of protective equipment
  • Only use competent, certified operators where required (e.g. drones, lighting, stunts)
  • Ensure locations are assessed for hazards and suitability
  • Keep sets and production environments tidy and well-managed

4. On-Set Safety

We expect all personnel to:

  • Follow briefing instructions (“toolbox talks”)
  • Report accidents, injuries or near misses immediately
  • Use equipment safely and as intended
  • Avoid unsafe behaviour or improvisation that puts others at risk

5. Emergency Procedures

klyr will:

  • Brief crews on fire exits, first aid and emergency contacts
  • Ensure a responsible person is present as appropriate
  • Maintain incident reporting for learning and prevention
  • Escalate serious incidents to relevant authorities where required

6. Wellbeing

We promote:

  • Reasonable working hours
  • Adequate breaks
  • A respectful, harassment-free working environment

7. Review

This policy is reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect industry changes.
